COMMUNITY OF INTERESTThe CMDR COE defines a Community of Interest (CoI) as a group of subject-matter experts in the CMDR domain and the wider CMDR COE thematic portfolio, who share a common interest on and / or passion about current or future developments in the respective field of knowledge and practice, and who wish to improve and deepen their knowledge on and expertise in the topic by interacting on a voluntary and regular basis. An integral part of the CMDR COE’s inclusive and comprehensive approach to the generation and exchange of knowledge and lessons-learned, the CoI will serve as a learning and action system where relevant stakeholders collaborate, imagine creative solutions and undertake transformative actions. In doing so, members of the CMDR COE CoI will contribute to the development of standards, the creation of new and innovative tools, and the further advancement of a dedicated network of subject-matter experts.
MISSION
To achieve its vision, the CoI will strengthen collaborative exchange on current issues and set the development of future trends in the CMDR domain by enabling fruitful, productive and constructive cooperation in favour of innovation.
KEY PRINCIPLES
The CMDR CoI will be premised on a voluntary and gratuitous collaboration through regular interaction within the CoI network, facilitated and enabled by the CMDR COE, aimed at the exchange of valuable and verifiable information, knowledge and good practices, and the creation of synergies. As the CoI administrator, the CMDR COE will make sure, within its mandate, capacity and resources, to create such an inviting and highly professional environment that encourages inclusive and diverse participation[2].
OBJECTIVES
The CMDR CoI objectives are to:
a. Enable the exchange of ideas, knowledge and good practices and the establishment of partnerships within the CMDR domain and its wider ramifications, including in terms of emerging technologies;
b. Stimulate innovation and promote generational transition;
c. Provide space for sharing knowledge and information (i.e. knowledge base);
d. Create tangible, measurable value added benefits in favour of advancing the CMDR domain and informing decision-making process, such as: updates and news feeds, opinion papers, policy recommendations, guidelines and procedures, thematic reports.
COI PLATFORM
To enable collaboration in pursuit of the objectives set before the CoI, the CMDR COE commits to develop, administer and maintain a CoI Platform with related functionalities for information and knowledge exchange. The said Platform will be Internet-based, account-related and password protected. All information shared on the CoI platform will be screened for relevance, sensitivity and respect for the CoI Intellectual Property regulations.
